ICS Cyber Security Training Curriculum
Fundamentals of Information Technology (IT) and Operational Technology (OT) Systems
This is a foundation course designed to provide students with a basis of knowledge that will be used upper level courses. It is based on the general knowledge domains introduced in CompTIA A+, Network+ and Security+, IACRB Certified SCADA Security Architect (CSSA) and GIAC Global Industrial Cyber Security Professional (GICSP). This is not designed to be a certification preparation course, but rather an entry-level course which can be used along with self-study methods to prepare for several first-tier certifications. Trainees will be introduced to general information technology terms and concepts. This basis will be used to introduce operational technologies, how they differ from IT, and how OT systems are designed and maintained as part of large facility or mission operations. The course also introduces several vital government guidance documents and shows how these documents align with real-world systems and the challenges those that operator those systems must overcome. This course will also include a pre-assessment that will be completed before training begins to understand and align course focus to student needs.
